Our employer is responsible for facilities management, decent homes and domestic gas installation and servicing across a number of London Boroughs. With an excellent track record of recruiting from the communities it serves the company is seeking to employ a number of craft apprentices in Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster.

 

Opportunities are across a range of construction and utilities trades dependant on the suitability of selected applicants. All trainees will work towards an NVQ qualification.

 

Applicants should be in receipt of JSA or another benefit.

 

Hours: Full time with 8.00am start

Essential requirements

 

• Able and willing to work towards a full NVQ qualification in plumbing or domestic gas installation and servicing or electrical installation etc.

• Sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to carry out requirements of work and training

• Able to understand and work to Health and Safety guidelines.

 

• Good communication and presentational skills as will be working in tenants homes

 

• Able to demonstrate the ability to carry out practical tasks and use hand tools

Essential requirements

 

• Good verbal and written communication skills to deal with tenants and engineers enquiries in person, by phone and in writing.

• Basic IT skills including ability to use WORD and email.

• Able to work as part of a team in what can be a very busy environment

• Ability to deal with difficult customers

• Ability to organise own workload and understand the importance of meeting deadlines
