Ms DD Posted January 30, 2007 Aaliya hon, Hilib geel is hard. You need ilko dhagax ah to eat. I love malawax with subag (iyo inyar oo saliid cadeey) with sprinkle of sugar (candrel if you are cutting down). Malawax has to be khafiif as well. The key is how you mix the milk, sugar, plain flour and heyl. I think tonight, i will make hubby some .

Walaal,They ,mustave fed you Australian Geel that was frozen since 19codhcodhkii. Somali Hilib geel is Soft(er).Hilibka geela la qalo[For consumption] is always the tender young dheylos. The Gaahir & the old ones[With hard hilib] are slaughtered ONLY markay nafta kabixi rabto so that meat isnt wasted. Of course you cant compare it to Hilib Ari
Cara. Posted January 30, 2007 ^Hmmm, I think maybe the dheylo is reserved for odayaasha. The only hilib geel I tried had the taste and texture of musty leather. And true, you can't compare it to hilib ari.
Ameen Posted January 30, 2007 Cambarro, the next time your sharing recipes with us, inform me in advance lol. I think I heard of a school called The Cambarro School for Chiefs, somewhere in Atlanta. You wouldnt happen to be the Dean of that school would you? But in this case you said, ..."mix the milk, sugar, plain flour"- I got that lol. Now its time to go put that to practice, if you know what I mean. And Allah knows best

It’s a delicacy & all delicacy meals are suppose to taste & feel different from the ordinary. Perhaps you are too Balad-ish for this traditional delicacy? What you say about Caano geel then? Bitter frothy milk? LOL! Seriously, It depends on how its made; Stir fry vs Boiled vs Roast. Who has made it & what kind of geed[Vegetation] the camel was fed on etc etc. I personally love roasted Camel meat.
xiinfaniin Posted January 30, 2007 ^^LOL@Brown. Waryee geel jire waynaaday baa tahaye'e illeen. Maxaad ii keentay. To qoute Ms Word, inamo caadhi moho , inanku.

Yep! Inaba Caadhi Ma'oho inanku.Behind this modern sophisticated Farax,Deep down lies in a true Geeljire Btw,Where i hail from, we love Geel
Cara. Posted January 30, 2007 LOL. Thank you, Brown. I'm intrigued now. I didn't realize camel meat cuisine was such a rigorous process. Haddii caleenta geelka uu daaqo la kala soocayo wa wax yaab ah. I'll keep an eye out for stir-fried camel meat prepared from dheylo fed on only the finest grasses. Caano geel is alright. Very savory, especially with a pinch of olive oil and a hint of garlic
Jacaylbaro Posted January 31, 2007 U know what ?? ,, if you use Hilib geel and caano geel then you won't be fat ,,,, may be is time to start those dished and wipe out all other fats like Adhi and Ló ,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Buuxo Posted January 31, 2007 Even better, kangaroo meat is said to be very low in bad fats and is similar to hilibka geelka.
