Farmaajo, like most other political laangaabs, would rather die than get rid of the 4.5 power sharing. He, like the others, who are afraid of holding elections based on districts and provinces of Somalia believe they won’t get the kind of numbers in parliament that they currently get if the nation starts doing parliamentary elections based on districts. So they instead deliberately choose to kick the can down the road and adopt tactics meant dither and delay to hold the nation back. But sooner or later, Somalia will hold district level parliamentary elections and many anti-federalists like Farmaajo will be flushed down the toilet.

But he never wanted to abolish 4.5. He was not even proposing to do that. His formula was few districts electing MPs based on 4.5. For example the districts of Baydhabo, Burhakaba, Waajid etc electing more than 69 MPs. That is crazy and sets precedence that will complicate the situation further. If you want to do one man one vote, you base it on two things: land mass and population and based on that MPs are elected by their designated constituencies. This whole process is enshrined in the constituition and taking a short cut won't cut it.
