Ibtisam Posted April 16, 2008 The makers of acclaimed documentary "The Muslim Jesus" are looking for Muslims to take part in a new ITV1 series about religion and marriage. Must be UK based. A Match Made in Heaven will explore the world of religious and cultural match-making sites by following a group of male and female characters of differing ages and backgrounds in their search for a marriage partner. The intention is to use the premise and format of the series as a means of exploring wider lifestyle issues affecting Christians, Jews and Muslims in the UK. A Match Made in Heaven is looking for articulate and outgoing Muslims to take part. Ideally you will see yourself as British, have a strong sense of your Muslim identity and be able to talk engagingly about your faith and lifestyle. You will be at a stage in your life where you are actively searching for a partner and confident that you can generate meetings with potentially suitable matches, which will be filmed. Filming will take place between mid April and the end of May. The series is being made by ITV's Specialist Factual and Arts department, the BAFTA and Emmy-winning team responsible for The South Bank Show, edited and presented by Melvyn Bragg and now in its 30th season. We are a sensitive team of film-makers (many of us from Muslim backgrounds ourselves) and the series is shaping up to be an intelligent, positive look at faith and relationships. We feel the programme offers a fantastic opportunity to dispel widely-held myths about the British Muslim community and to give a balanced snap-shot of everyday life as a Muslim in the UK today Please contact ayesha.tariq@itv.com / 020 7261 3977 as soon as possible for more information.
