Castro Posted January 21, 2007 Red Sea, thanks for sharing this video which I'm sure is very nice. Unfortunately it's a little too long and a tad bit dry. No butts shaking, no guns firing, just good news about the university. Also, FYI, it's borama, not borame.

Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted January 21, 2007 Micnaha Boorama dad yaqaano maku jiraan inta? Boor [bus] mee la xiriirtaa, oo degmo boor badan miyaa?
Castro Posted January 21, 2007 ^ I highly doubt it. The natives there (from what I hear ), pronounce boor as boodh. So, if that were the case, the city would have been called boodhama. As to what it means, I've no idea. It's probably meaningless.
Fanisha Posted January 21, 2007 ^^^ What the heck! Meaningless kulahaa  Inabti MMA, Boorama means beautiful
Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted January 21, 2007 Perhaps waxee la xiriirtaa that other word with almost close spelling and pronunciation, boorane -- yacni mingiska iyo saarka mida la xiriiro, boorane. Waligaa ma lagaa tumay or seen qof laga tumaayo? I did as a boy, and I don't want to see it again. Boorama means beautiful Ma hubtaa? A whole degmo can't be named beautiful nooh. Dhulka can be beautiful, sida meel barwaawo, ilsan, indhadeeq, maandeeq iyo sareero camal, laakiin degmo gaar ah ma filaayi in la siiye magac saas camal, oo qaanuunka Soomaalida magacaabaan degmooyinka ma u eko. That maloo fasiri karo beautiful.

Suldaanka Posted January 21, 2007 Excellent. Well done to rer Awdal. Hardworking fellas. Thanks to them, now we have many universities throughout the land. Boorama is far from being a dusty town. It is located in a greenish farming area with overlooking hills. Very beaufitul. But the name could be from the somali word "Booraan"/canyon plural "Booraamo". Fanisha Posted January 21, 2007 ^^ You are right hard work is the only way to go. Here is another good news from Awdal. Australian Scientist on a Short Visit to Amoud University. Good read.
