SOMALIA’S INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS URGE POLITICAL CONSENSUS TO ENSURE TIMELY ELECTIONS, ADVANCE NATIONAL PRIORITIES, AND PRESERVE STABILITY

Mogadishu – Somalia’s international partners* express their concern and their strong hope that recent political developments, including in the Federal Parliament, will not undermine efforts to reach political consensus on timely elections, disrupt Somalia’s reform agenda, or create instability that may reverse the gains made so far on national priorities.

The partners have consistently called for inclusive consultations to achieve broad-based agreement on the modalities for the 2020 elections. This is why they welcomed the decisions reached by the Federal and State leaders in Dhusamareb on 22 July as an important step towards that goal.

The international partners expect the Federal and State leaders to honour the agreements reached on 22 July in Dhusamareb and the timelines for follow-up meetings bringing together the Federal Government, Federal Member States, the Federal Parliament leadership, political parties and civil society representatives. Any attempt by a single stakeholder to unilaterally impose electoral modalities will lack legitimacy and will not be implementable without the essential support from other stakeholders. The partners will closely follow developments going forward. Commitment to agreed national priorities and to resolving issues through dialogue and compromise is vital for continued international support to Somalia at current levels.

The partners urge the immediate nomination of all members of the FGS-FMS Technical Committee and stand ready to facilitate its work, so that it can be completed within the agreed two weeks from the date of the Dhusamareb meeting.

This is like when the Doctors call for a urgent family meeting regarding the faith of their terminally ill loved one on life support and declaring "we will be switching off the machines". It is not a laughing matter indeed. That is what this press release reads out like.

5. Poland - it is currently led my a racist anti Muslim fascists so it probably signed this document to look good in the eyes of its fellow EU allies. 

6. Japan - a neutral donor following the lead of its Western allies. 

7. The Americans & western Europeans - they are the real authorities of Somalia.

Majority of Mps/Ministers have multiple nationalities, and conflicted loyalties.

All future somali public servants must hold only Somali nationality

In many cases , it is IC who care more.of protecting Somali government, why do they spend billions of their hard earned money ? Many Somali politicians are their to enrich themselves, and many are too incompetent,  and know nothing about governnance 

Can you imagine Somali government without 30k Amisom forces? Who pays them? How much a year? Why we still need them? Can Somali government survive without them?

But, now, his game is to see how much he can get away with it with the help of Ethiopia, Qatar, and Turkey (in some fashion).

And, if the whole thing he is trying to pull off as a "political scam of an extension sort" for his tenure in his current office blows off on his face, then his "ultimate and endgame game" is to go and live the rest of his days in Qatar.

Given, that he will not be staying or loitering on freely in Mogadishu for much longer, especially, if he loses power. And, therefore, he won't be sticking around in the place waiting for his "enemies" to get back at him. Since he made a number of them along the way when he was in office in the last four years or so. And. of course, the fact is that he won't be able to go to the US to live there, as well.

So, this is it for him. And in particular, in the sense of this being his last and final "political gamble" in which he will roll the "dice" for it. Win or lose, regardless.

Hence, he is either will win the "term extension" he wants with all the help in which he is counting on to get it from the likes of Qatar, Ethiopia, and Turkey. Or he will lose, decisively, and he will be forced to do the same "clannish 4.5 selection process" of 2016 all over again by February of next year (2021) for his own presidential seat.

And when he loses that, eventually, as well, in terms of who ultimately that clannish selection process will produce as president, he will simply and speedily "vacate" (or actually run) from Mogadishu on the same freaking afternoon he loses power with a one-way ticket into Qatar.

Mark my word on this, mate.  

I agree ,most parts,  ,noway he will stay if he loses,

These nonsense multiple parallel regional governments must end, else no solution will come. 

Somalis with 12-15 MILLION , poor can not afford all these governments,  so winner, in terms of  central gov MUST TAKE over. And win or lose, that is Farmaajo’s goal.

But dozen mini Governments,  their salaries alone is too much  and too much bureaucracy

At minimum,  North n South blocks.
