9 dead in car crashes in Somaliland region in one day

9 is very high compared to the UK with a population of 66 million which only has 5 deaths per day from car crashes.

We are talking about car accidents rate not murder rate. Don't try to deflect from the topic.  The high rate of car accidents in Somaliland region is alarming in recent years.

I think there could be a mistake here. Nine people might have died in Somaliland this week of car accident, but that doesn't mean 9 people die every day or even a month. 

In Somaliland, the media reports major accidents and crashes. I bet 9 people a month is even too much. THe roads are not maintained or repaired. The worst road is probably Hargeisa --Gabiley where cars travel high speed with narrow road.

That is true but there is no denying fatal car accidents are becoming more common in Somaliland region in recent years.  9  in a day is too much for a population of 3 million.               In UK (a population of 66 million) the average is 5 a day and whenever a fatal car crash happens it is reported in all major news websites.

To be fair it is not only the road condition cause  Puntland region has even worse roads yet  car crashes are not as frequent there. The problem with drivers in Somaliland region is speeding plus drugged up while driving (khat).

Waa runtaa. I hope any lacag aad dirtid in lagu qayilin. I would hate nothing more than lacag qof ku soo dhididay in jaad iyo qashin lagu cuno, and the hard currency money straight goes back to Kiikuuyos and Xabashis.

Another car accident today just in Berbera. So far it is afternoon so there could be more later.

Yep and the roads are narrow so that is what makes overtaking dangerous.
