-Lily- Posted March 20, 2008 Strangely enough the Elizabethan practice of putting the married couple to bed on their wedding night comes to mind.

-Lily- Posted March 20, 2008 lol@ CL & Buuxo, Buuxo, I have never seen a wedding where such a thing was recorded. All that happens in an Elizabethan Bedding ceremony is that the close wedding guests (friends, siblings, parents) put the couple to bed, literally,(some jeers and light hearted banters may ensue) and a priest says some prayers over the couple to ward of evil and then everyone goes. Lord knows what Che's version is.
Malika Posted March 20, 2008 ^Its similar to the what I had observed many moons ago, while still in Africa. The groom and bride are escorted to their room, the guest, family linger outside the room..pretending to be dancing heladha..what a preculiar practise, bilaa edeeb bee ahayeen islamahasii.Apparently they wait to know if the dude was capable of doing the business or he needs help so the girl could be taken to hospital..subhanallah,what a fiasco!! Lily, you dont want to know what Che's version is..

Bantus are just str8 forward than Somalis
cynical lady Posted March 20, 2008 FB-I don’t know what your talking abt, there no man in shaash saar. Its bunch of woman getting together on the 7th'day of the wedding, with loads of shaash’s, the newly bride wears a gunnteno/dirac they put those shaash on her head and/take every opportunity to ruin the poor woman’s hair by slapping her hair do/bessings are issued then a buraanbuur takes place…then off they go home…in a nutshell. Still awaiting for che version of sariir saar!
Che -Guevara Posted March 20, 2008 ^Come on, do you really wanna hear my version. It would involve more than words P.S. From what I understand, supposedly Somalis in Baraawe, and the Jilib practice this, in particular the Gibil Cadka! Of course, as usual this is very unpleasant experience for the bride.
