Faheema. Posted November 11, 2009 ^Bad idea Norf lol stay in the sunshine and let us envy you. CL, lol I get to leave at 3pm Just got this email.... "Staff may, where possible, wish to observe the two minutes' silence in remembrance of fallen soldiers at 11am this morning - the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Lest we forget." -Lily- Posted November 11, 2009 I used to do that, even wear a poppy when Remembrance Day was all about world war 1, and now they have married it to Iraq/Afghanistan and to all fallen soldiers it has lost its appeal for me. Norf, its not all bad here, everywhere has its drawbacks.
cynical lady Posted November 11, 2009 3PM- what the hell. Thats not fair. I would (for a short space of time) give my left leg for bit of sunshine. Dam i hate this weather. *throws a shoe at norf for "Not implying dear I'm saying it"
NGONGE Posted November 11, 2009 If you return without speaking proper Arabic you will be a total failure, Norf. For that reason alone, I think you should stay put. Morning Co-trolls. Where is the manager and her sidekick?
Faheema. Posted November 11, 2009 THE SILENCE HAS BEGUN
cynical lady Posted November 11, 2009 2min of silence
N.O.R.F Posted November 11, 2009 Rememberance day has lost some it's identity. WWI and WWII were genuine causes whilst Afghanistand and Iraq are not. They really have made a big deal about this year. All the weekend's sports matches has 1 min silences with air support! Ngonge, if I live in Saudi for the past 4 years you could say that but I have been in UAE for 3 and Oman for 1. English all the way. UK is appealing in terms of the kids growing with their cousins.
-Lily- Posted November 11, 2009 Whatever you decide, I would wait a bit until the economy has recovered a bit, job prospects needs to improve still.
