N.O.R.F Posted July 27, 2008 Private sector holiday on July 31 to mark Isra Wal Meraj WAM Published: July 27, 2008, 15:31 Abu Dhabi: The private sector in the UAE will get a one-day holiday on Thursday, July 31, to mark Isra Wal Meraj - Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) ascension to heaven - it was announced on Sunday. According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Labour, private sector employees will get a holiday on Thursday, July 31, to celebrate the glorious occasion. The ministry congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the UAE government and people on the occasion.
