VIDEO on how Ethiopia (Abyssinia) saved Islam religion

Gabbal,

There are a couple things you need to understand. All major ethnic and linguistic groups had to expand at some time in order to become 'major' in the first place. Whether that be Soomaal, Amhara, Oromo. In the process none can claim to be monolithic groups since expanding in different directions means coming into contact with or conquering different people and eventually developing a distinct history.

But without getting into all that, the general rule in this aspect of anthropology is that governments change, languages change, cultures change, but people generally tend to remain where they are. So, for example, whether Amharas are agaw or not is not a big deal because the people who inhabit Shawa are the decendents of the people who inhabited Shawa 800 years ago. They may have spoken another language then, and they may have been Muslim then, but they're very much the same people. Insha'allah they'll be brought back into the folds of Islam in the future.

I used Shawa as an example but the same principle applies to almost anywhere else. If you read Futuh al Habasha, and travel to the places mentioned in the kitaab today, you'll notice that most of those groups no longer exist. That doesn't mean all those tribes (with exception of the soomaal) disappeared. Most of those regions & vessal states (muslim and christian) were annexed by Oromo expansion. Just like Somalis expanded before that, and the 'Amhara' led by the Solomon dynasty before that. The latter is a bit different because it was expansion of a monarchy while Oromo and Somali expansions were carried out by individual clans. You can follow the rule I mentioned above to determine who is related to who.

Oromali,

The Prophet instructed his companions to leave the Abyssinians alone as long as they leave you alone. The Abyssinians never fulfilled that condition.
