^I don't think the world have cared if it did in the Africa. There's no political advantage to making Africa look bad but this was a Muslim kid-it would have been different story.

Why i am not surprised about this. since the socialist government came to power in 2005, Spanish society has been morally decaying. first they allow expressed divorce, then legalise same sex marriage - which different from civil partnerships. my friend was telling that church attendance among young Spaniards is less than 10%. although church figure are by no means a reflection of a society, at least it goes some ways to being a marker of decadence and societal cracks.

 

edit..... since the child in question was of a roma descent, perhaps this is to do with socio-economic conditions of the roma people. i mean these people are lowest in every indicator.
