I-71 crash kills woman, 27

Recommended Posts

Pujah

A 27-year-old woman was killed when she lost control of her car and crashed into a highway median wall on I-71 on the North Side yesterday.

The 1999 gold Lexus sedan overturned in the left berm of I-71 southbound, just south of E. Cooke Road, at 4:44 p.m.

The woman's name wasn't released last night, pending notification of relatives, said detective John Herman of the Columbus police accident investigation unit.

"This person lost control fr no reason really," Herman said. "She clipped the car in front of her. She didn't cause it to lose control but she abruptly struck the median wall."

Excessive speed didn't appear to be a factor in the crash, Herman said. The speed limit on that part of the highway is 65 miles per hour.

The woman didn't appear to be wearing a seat belt, Herman said, though he hadn't checked with paramedics who found her at the scene.

Police closed all southbound lanes of I-71 between I-270 and Cooke for more than two hours during the crash investigation.

Please pray for my friend, I feel so numb and cant believe she is gone. One minute she was here full of life and next she was gone...unbelievable

I am really very much shoked over the death of Rooda. Wallaahi, I nearly fainted. For it was a week back that we were communicating. May Allah rests her soul in peace. She was a very sweet sister.

I would suggest, each and every one of us that reads this thread. Should pray for her on the 27th and 29th of the holy month. Just two to three words wont take long. I will be the first to do so! Samir iyo iimaan
