NGONGE Posted September 3, 2010 Keeping it short for Ramadan. _______________________________ He told her he loves her. She lied too. *** He sat on the side of the road eating his first meal in a week. He closed his eyes as he chewed in enjoyment. When he opened them, he saw the AMISOM rocket heading towards him. **** He was having an afternoon nap. He hastily jumped out of bed as he heard his father's approaching cough. **** The two women looked at each other across the room. In the pregnant silence, several gold bracelets jingled. **** As the bus started to move, she looked back at the bus stop and smiled at him. He looked surprised. *** On the outskirts of Mogadishu, she sucked the snot from her baby's blocked nose. A couple of starving young girls looked at her and thought her delirious. *** Watching the advert about smoking and lung cancer, he involuntarily lit a cigarette. *** As his wife handed him his tenth newborn son, he shuddered as he caught a familiar look in her eyes. *** She watched them as she tried to blow the sand from her face. In their hands, rocks! *** Her laugh was genuine, his telling. *** Today, he joined his kin in rioting against liberal politics. Yesterday, they rioted against extreme faith. *** She vehemently rebuffed all his advances whilst secretly hoping he wouldn't give up. *** He shuffled to the kitchen and stood quietly scratching his head. She kept him waiting then passed him some change. *** They both were startled as they rounded a corner from opposite sides. The fox was the first to run. *** He told a joke and waited. They waited too. *** He held on tightly to the fishing rod as he wondered how huge his catch would be. On the other side of the ship, the pirates were quietly approaching. *** She kept the love letter hidden for years. She finally found someone she trusts, to read it for her. *** They joyfully celebrated the world cup goal. Their hearts sank as they heard someone loudly shout "Allahu Akbar". *** She helplessly watched the truck heading south. All her menfolk were in it. *** He hit return and scornfully smiled. He began to manically type a reply to himself. *** On their first date, he tried to shake her hand and she mistook it for a hug. Tension set in. *** She heard him loudly clear his throat. It was four in the morning. ***

Ibtisam Posted September 3, 2010 I thought you was telling few stories; the first one: He told her he loves her. She lied too. As the bus started to move, she looked back at the bus stop and smiled at him. He looked surprised. *** She vehemently rebuffed all his advances whilst secretly hoping he wouldn't give up. *** She kept the love letter hidden for years. She finally found someone she trusts, to read it for her. *** He hit return and scornfully smiled. He began to manically type a reply to himself. *** On their first date, he tried to shake her hand and she mistook it for a hug. Tension set in. *** She heard him loudly clear his throat.
