UN lauds the new role by Somalia at the UNGA

The UN mission in Somalia said it welcomes the election of the country’s representative to the world body, Amb. Abukar Baalle as a Vice-President of the UNGA’s 75th session.

This is the first time since 1986-87, and a sign of Somalia’s progress since then and its return to international affairs.

Somalia’s ambassador to the UN mission Abukar Osman Bale was elected as the Vice President of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly on Monday, June 29.

Together with the new UNGA President Volkan Bozkir from Turkey, ambassador Abukar will preside over important affairs at the United Nations [UN].
