Reprieve for artists as Somalia, Somaliland end sanctions on cultural activities

DJIBOUTI (HOL) - Non-political social engagements between Somalia and Somaliland will not be subject to any sanctions, a joint technical ministerial committee from both sides meeting in Djibouti has resolved in what could be a reprieve for artists, academics and traders who have in the past suffered penalties owing to political differences between Hargeisa and Mogadishu.
