galbeedi Posted June 15, 2020 Folks, we just got a word from a member of the Farmaajo delegation from Djibouti. Since this news is from the horses mouth, I would like to share with SOL readers. He said, through third party that unlike the former Somaliu leaders Farmaajo get a full briefing from the unity commission he appointed about accurate facts and figures from Somaliland. He took with him a dossier not only about history of the region but also all the crimes committed by various Somali groups including the SNM. He siad Farmaajo is well prepared this time. He said the opening statement supposed to be just a formality and welcoming remarks for those who were present. The real negotiations will not take in public or open microphone. It will be behind closed doors. They asked him about the Somaliland delegation members already making accusations and inaccurate statements, he said, the old man Saleebaan Gaal has lied, and no formal negotiotions had taken place. This was just an opening statements and meeting of the minds. It was just the first dance and Biixi and company just spent their days complaining what Farmaajo did or didn't. They put their case in the open before even the game started. According to this gentleman those with weakness make the load noise. He also said that Farmaajo is intended to expose Biixi and company as outlaw groups that intend to keep the people of the north in unattainable situation for long time. He said if Biixi and company abandon the table without concrete solutions , they will pay a heavy price in the next 12 months. Folks, the main question is why Biixi and his group, especially the chairman of the Guurti lie about the nature of the conference and say, : we all done here and we are leaving tomorrow when the conference begun? You guys should answer that.

Suldaanka Posted June 15, 2020 Somaliland brings peace, stability, democracy, business and trade to the region. While Somalia brings insecurity, terrorism, division and endless death and despair. Ethiopia's border with Somaliland and Djibouti's border with Somaliland are the most peaceful borders in the region. Both the region and IC will never accept anything that threatens Somaliland's peace, stabliity and progress. You can take that to the bank. The talks will end up exactly what Somaliland wants or else there is no talks. Simple as that.

It was not witten by his cousin than a proffessional . I thought he was prepared but it was speech for the crowd in Hargeisa

Duufaan Posted June 15, 2020 The old man is not here aka OODWEYNE, that tells me things are not going well with the separatist group. Biixi is not in Jabuuti for good faith and the love of somalis but he came because of Ethiopia and others with more a bigger agenda in the region brought him. For 25 years they were receiving special treatment and financing, similar to kurdish scenario, Ethiopia and others can always use them but this time they have much more bigger geopolitical and regional goals.. According to Faratoon, Somaliland foreign minister, Biixi is prepare to give up but they will try to sell the idea of confederation. This point of time, that is what they are talking about, the otherside is not going to pay that idea.

Duufaan Posted June 15, 2020 1 minute ago, TRO - AJT said: I have not heard or seen any recording of the Kulan Faratoon had with the Laascaanood community. The reports afterwards only mentioned that Faratoon had said Somaliland was under pressure to come back to discussion/negotiation table. Show me one report/recording that says what you are claiming. It is time you guys pretend to act British. Nothing really secret in Somali world. Biixi will not get free agreement signed for him, he have to make big decision. You are correct for almost all the time, but anything involving Djibouti you would be wrong. Oodweyne does not want to say what he feels and knows and at the same time Oodweyne does not want to say things that are not true to him just to be evasive. Oodweyne prefers to absentee himself. Old_Observer Posted June 16, 2020 Everyone of the regional and world powers do not mind for Somaliland to be independent state. Not a single one of them have interest therefore, non of them will push for it. The worst part for Somaliland is that Somaliland has never been in the total service of any regional or world power for the past 40 years since the Horn of Africa took shape the way it is now in Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan..etc. Serving others is a profession that needs training and education specifically attuned to it. It also needs propaganda to hide it. Example: Look at Ghelleh and Afwerki. Ghelleh has never been in the total service/owned by any regional or world power. That includes France which has close relations with some Afar Clans, was colonizer of Djibouti for 100 years therefore a lot of multi generational relations. Djibouti got its independence "peacefully" therefore no enmity with France. France still has the 2nd largest and firest most active base in Djibouti. Ethiopia is single customer of Djibouti. 100 times the population..etc. Yet, France and America are balanced in Djibouti, China and Japan/Germany/Britain were balanced and now America and China are both eyeing each other not moving first either of them. Afwerki has gone from Total service to America against Sudan, to Total service of Qatar and now Total service of UAE but if you look at internet, Afwerki is advertised as independent changing allies, but Djibouti is servant of America. That is funny. Among Somalis: Somaliland as water boys of Mengistu, SSDF as water boys of Tigray/Xabeshi, USC as the only independent Somali. Which is the opposite of reality and truth. Truth is: Somaliland was always fairly independent of Mengistu or of Tigray. USC including its leader Aidiid were 100% allied and taking orders of Mengistu. SSDF was closest to Tigray/Xabeshi.
