galbeedi Posted June 5, 2020 The next major town to fall will be InshaAllah Tarhouna. Western Libya will be cleared of warlord Hifter and his rented mercenaries from Chad, Sudan and Russia. We already know that Benghazi , the main eastern city which started the anti Khadaafi uprising, is occupied by Hifter forces with the barrel of gun. Turkey backed GNA doesn't even bomb towns before it convinces civilians to leave. Turkey is playing the long game of winning hearts and minds. The Russian mercenaries who were paid by how much blood they spilled were no longer there. They were the ones who bombarded Tripoli residencial population. Since the balance of power is shifted negotiations would start no with Hifter but the Tobrouk based speaker Saleh Aquila. The Americans had just discovered trhat the UAE companies were selling Libyan crude oil to the international market including Venezuela and other Latin countries. Hifter basically blocked oil terminals to ship to Europe but he and the Emerities were selling oil in the black market to cover the cost of weapons. Don't these UAE tired of losing. From Syria to Yemen to Libya and Africa? Man these gulf boys( Bin Salman and Bin Zayd) were fooled by a;most everyone. Imagine the most sophisticated Russian new generation of anti aircraft defence, the Pantsir S-1 was decimated by Turkish drones. during the battle of Al Watiya air base more than 10 of them were destroyed. Each of them costs $14 million. Here is Pantsir S-1 advertised by the Russians. https://youtu.be/TjsUCQ_nH80?t=
galbeedi Posted June 5, 2020 The Russian killers could bomb civilians and lightly armed militia. Erdogan had spared the lives of the Russian mercenaries to leave Tripoli. The Hifter brigade had hired mercenaries from all over the world. The UAE had chartered planes around the world to deliver weapons from China, France and Russia, and hired mercenaries from Serbia, Madova, Ukraine, Belarusia, Russia, Sudan and Chad. Well the world's best were destroyed by the Turkish drone and intelligence. After the Turkish companies building infrastructure in Somalia were targeted by UAE paid Al-shabaab mercenaries, the Turkish intelligence landed in Mogadishu and started helping Somalia gather intelligence about the communications of Al-shabaab. Last month Turkish intelligence with the coordination of Somali intelligence had rescued an Italian aid worker abducted from Kenya. Soon Somalia will be getting some helicopters and drones. Old_Observer Posted June 6, 2020 What is happening in Libya is the difference between evil intensions of the weak and wicked like UAE, Egypt, France, Greece..etc and Turkish and all silent majority of world. The Turkish have national interest. Yes. Why not. But the important principle is that the Turkish want and wish and work for the Libyan people to have a government. That is noble principle and regardless of the military situation Libya people know this. “Instead of entering the ruling administration in Egypt in a dialogue with Turkey, they preferred to give up and not to defend the rights and interests of its people in the Mediterranean basin, in favor of external powers that allowed them to intervene. There is no reason other than hostility to Turkey as the Emirates has no relationship in the Mediterranean,” Turkish Foreign Ministry Sissi is getting money from UAE to stay in power, but selling out long term interests of Egypt for century to come. Typical of Egyptian dictators. In a years time Libya will have a unified government. Once having done that the Libyans need to kick out anything Egyptian, Arab, French.... Suldaanka Posted June 6, 2020 Haftar is losing more territory in the Western Libya. It looks like he wants to consolidate his Eastern province. His forces have withdrawn from Sirte, Col. Ghadafi's home town. Also, other development, General Haftar was in Cairo and signed a seize fire accord brokered by Egypt's Al-sisi. Not sure if GNA leaders will be honouring this seize fire pledge. Haftar's Prime Minister lamented Turkey's intervention in a press conference in Cairo.
Old_Observer Posted June 6, 2020 Suldaanka, Its the same game everywhere where the locals are weak. Blame their brother of inviting foreigners yet themselves invite worst foreigner. If someone has no shame of inviting Arabs who destroyed Libya following their European masters wishes, then has no justification to accuse those inviting Turkish. Turkish and Russians for different reasons were opposed to European American destruction and plunder of Libya. If some Libyan is not ashamed to invite and work with France...France...France...Zarcozy country...then has no acceptance to accuse the Government of asking Turkey for help. Everywhere in the world is the same. There were so many SOLers so excited for Abiy to arrest Somalis in Jubaland as he did in Baydaba for them, yet these were the same folks accusing others of inviting Ethiopia or Kenya or Djibouti or Yemen... Of all foreign powers the Turkish are the most accepted. Both by history of their stand and their current stands as well.
Old_Observer Posted June 9, 2020 See the difference between Egypt which is very close by land and water and Turkey which is relatively very far by sea and land. Its principles and self respect that matters. Egypt is now talking about ceasefire and the Turkish are not even commenting, the Libya government is enough to respond to Egyptians if necessary. If the Egyptians as neighbor had gone to help make peace and ceasefire genuinly from years ago, they would have at least have had contacts from both sides. Now even Haftar side despises Egypt.
