Buubto Posted March 31, 2002 I always wondered why do they stare so hard, can't even say "iska waran". I still can get the answer maybe they too excited perhaps seeing a Somali on the street loooooooool, but don't have the guts to say "iska waran". They could stare & take their time as long as they want but when they get into car accident while they driving a taxi I will be laughing in the other corner. Loooooooool. A while ago I was down town with a non Somali friend, a Somali men so me he couldn’t stop staring at me, until a tram nearly hit him. Oh god wat a strange ppl. ------------------ "Our Lord! forgive us our sins and anything we may have done that transgressed our duty: establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith." Hibo Posted March 31, 2002 Salaamzz, I think it depends where you live. Let me explain. I once lived in a city where there a large somali population resided. I would ride subways with somalis, see in the supermarket, streets, etc., but we would pass each other like we didn't see each other in the 1st place. Even the university I attended in that particular city, the somalis there had same attitude. But when I did move to a city where there were hardly any Somalis around, I noticed that the attitude here was different. If a Somali happens to see me in the street, college, or work... boy do they act like they're glad to see me!! lol. Anyway, a simple hello doesn't hurt anybody, and I still show my love to my people where ever they may be at. ~Peace~
Hibo Posted March 31, 2002 I detest the tactless personal questions people ask. That is why I avoid acknowledging stangers. The minute you say hello, their next question is likely to be a personal one: what is ur name, where do u live, are u married, which shcool do u go to or how much money do u make blah, blah, blah! Gediid Posted May 14, 2003 Good Question Kool Kat tho you make it sound like its a problem across the board.I personally believe most Somali girls will greet anyone except a Somali dude thats why I don't bother.I just walk on in most cases. Aduun waxa ugu daran mido foolxun oo ku qabata thats why I become selective in my choice of who to salan iyo who to not salan.Sounds mean but hey at least I don't regret it after lii qabto
