SeeKer Posted August 22, 2010 I am wondering if anyone has seen these women perform these monologues. They are absolutely amazing. The Hijabi Monologues performance and name is derived from the famous Vag1na monologues. Conceived by three University of Chicago students, these one hour long performances dispel stereotypes of muslim women in the US. The performances are usually followed by Q and A sessions where the audience engages in discussion with the performers. I believe there a couple different ways to bring the group to perform in your city. If you goggle their name you should hit their facebook page and get more information. Here is a and this cracks me up
Muriidi Posted August 26, 2010 have you noticed .. nowadays it's out in the open ,that women who wear hijab , are like .. social "imams" ? people wait with new trends until the palastenian chick (with hijab of course) says it's ok to do so .. maybe on twitter .. back in the 60's only artists and intellectuals in the modern society knew that .. the egyptian college girl would ask here hijab-wearing cousin and then call her colleagues in tokyo and tell them about the latest trends ..
