PUNTLAND SECURITY FORCES FOIL ISIS ATTACK IN BOSASO

Bosaso ( PP News Desk ) — Puntland Security Forces in Bosaso foiled earlier this morning an attack by gunmen loyal to Islamic State in Somalia in the centre of the port town.

The extremist group’s two assailants were travelling  in a car marked taxi but was laden with improvised explosive devices.

The ISIS fighters attacked a US-funded PSF post in Bosaso and killed one soldier. In the ensuing firefight one ISIS fighter was killed and another was wounded. The wounded gunman remains in custody. 

ISIS fighters have bases in parts of Bari region. Recently they have been making their presence in Bosaso felt through attacks and intimidations.
