NUSOJ Issues New Covid-19 message for Journalists and Media Houses

The Secretary General of the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ), Omar Faruk Osman has issued a new message to the journalists and media houses in Somalia over the coronavirus pandemic.

Faruk has called upon the journalists to take available precautionary measures while covering the COVID-19 and follow the Health guidelines on the deadly virus.

In addition, NUSOJ Secretary General asked the media houses to minimize the meetings and invitation of the guests to the studios that could spread Coronavirus.

Continuing, Faruk said NUSOJ has appealed for the government to allow the media play its role and the journalists exercise their journalistic duty to ensure safe and responsible journalism during the fight against COVID19 pandemic.

Finally, the Secretary General urged the media workers to avoid offend against the Covid-19 patient’s privacy during the coverage of the Coronavirus related stories.
