TPEC APPOINTS A NEW SECRETARY GENERAL

Garowe (PP News Desk) —  The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission has appointed Ubah Abdulkadir Abshir as the new Secretary General of TPEC whose governing body held a meeting at its premises in Garowe today.

Ubah will replace Liban Salah Mohamud, who was appointed as TPEC Secretary General in November 2016.

• Ubah’s experience will stand TPEC in good stead

Ubah holds Masters in Economics and Public Adminstration and has fifteen years of experience of working with governmental and non-governmental organisations.

TPEC has a mandate to conduct the first pilot local government elections to take place in Puntland. No date has been set for local government elections.
