CLAN FEUDING ERUPTS IN EASTERN SANAAG

Bosaso (PP News Desk) — According to reports from Eastern Sanaag clan feuding erupted earlier today at Waqideriya coast north of Las Qoray district.

Hostilities began when armed militias belonging to rival subclans clashed there. Due to poor infrastructure and lack of communications in the area Puntland Post has not been able to find out the number of casualties.

Neither Puntland nor Somaliland, to which rival militias separately belong, has issued statement on hostilities.

Parts of Sanaag are under the control of Puntland and Somaliland administrations. Hostilities will compound pressures already facing Puntland and Somaliland due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
