Let's Talk about Sex

You can talk to children about sex but it will be a lot harder to talk to teens about sex.

 

Schools do a good job of teaching the biology side of it, I knew all about intercourse, child birth etc at 8. It's up to parents to talk about the social, moral and religious responsibilities of sex.

 

Discussing sex with children also can help with preventing child abuse, if they know the basic rules of sex in terms of what is wrong and what is right.

People do your kids a favour and NEVER EVER speak to them of sex. My mom once tried to tell me about sex, and I'm still trying to recover from it. She only got as far as "when a man and a woman get married....", before I collapsed on the floor, foaming around my mouth, praying to God for a speedy death. I'm 23 now, and I still can't stop crying with horror when think about that day, ugh.

 

 

Good grief people, don't ever mention sex or anything vaguely sexual (like lipgloss or bras) to your kids. Or even comments like 'boys only want one thing', coming out of the mouth of our parents is vile, disgusting and should be punishable by law.

 

Thank God both my parents are still virgins.

loooool glad to see I wasn't the only one...although my mother sat us all down and i remember her talking whislt i was playing oblivious to everying...until I realised how I got on this earth....oh the horrooooooor

 

Talk about sex with children? Question is at what age should this be done? Like everyone else has mention...children know up to a certain extent at younger and younger ages...I once got my 6 yr old cousin asking me how could her teacher have gotten pregnant if she wasn't married...and that one of her teachers told her that you don't have to be married to have children...at first I kept silent thinking how best to answer her question without using the words, man, woman, naked, love and genitals..but low and behold I was saved...she said..."did it happen by magic" and I told her "yeah it did...that's amazing isn't it" and the pool of sweat which had collected on my brow began to dry as I let out that sigh of relief....Yep great way to deal with it me thinks....in a few yrs time...i'll just switch on the nature channel for her :cool:
