Health ministry announces first death from Covid-19 as 4 tested positive

Somalia’s Minister of Health Fowzia Abikar has confirmed for more coronavirus cases in Somalia, after announcing the first death caused by the disease.

“This evening we confirmed four more cases of COVID-19… Please adhere to guidelines by the ministry,” the health minister told the public.

The person who died of coronavirus was a Somali citizen who has never left the country according to the ministry.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Somalia has now risen to 12 people.
