Deeq A. Posted March 28, 2020 At least one Somali soldier was reported to have died and two others sustained wounds in an IED blast in the country’s troubled south on Saturday. A witness said the attack took place at Manya-Fulka, a rural area located on the outskirts of Baidoa city after remote-controlled landmine explosion struck a military convoy. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, the latest in a series of IED attacks targeting Somali and AU troops in the south, mostly claimed by Al-Shabaab. Meanwhile, the allied forces have managed to flush out Al-Shabaab from several villages in Lower Shabelle region, the mostly recently Janale which fell to the government hands.
