underdog Posted March 31, 2005 It seems quite a few of you have had a plague of Hackers invading your system and viruses and spyware/adware slowing down your computers. Firstly, Mac sonkor for not giving your PC the respect it deserves and doing nothing to protect your investment. Ok moving on. GET THIS STUFF!!! IT'S FREE and IT WORKS!!! Spybot Search & Destroy SpywareBlaster ZoneAlarm Firefox Load the first one, and update it over the web, then reboot in safe mode and have it scrub your PC. Then Load each of the others in turn. You may be able to get your windows box to be almost as secure as a LINUX PC, provided you update and run the two spyware cleaners often. You can choose to be a victim or you can protect yourself. The bad thing about most of the spyware software is the software itself contains the same problems you are trying to get rid off. Do what I do...use your work PC. Nin-Yaaban Posted March 31, 2005 i am with AOL and they give out free anti-virus software (Mcafee) to all its members. it blocks all those things (viruses, adware, spyware, illegal access) all bundled together in one package. the only setback i have it with is every few days or so - it automatically downloads and updates itself and the computer becomes very slow during that time. it doesn't allow you to reschedule for another time, and you can't stop it while its updating itself.
