Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted November 6, 2007 I was right there one day during its construction. It is a bit far outside Xamar itself, though. I also had an unfortunate incident on that very scene, one of the few times aan nafteyda ula baqay. Some fakin fighting mooryaaans dhexdooda u galnay. What was amazing was both were hired by the university, one group protecting the building, and the other guardian staff accompanying the envoy we were with. Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted November 7, 2007 By the way, Daa'uud, you should have seen the blueprint model. The one I saw in 2003 inside Muqdisho University headquarters was a bit different from the one up there. It was designed as a huge compound, with all its essentials inside the walled enclosure, including a tennis court, a swimming pool, a basketball court, a soccer field, etc. The initial funds were provided by the Islamic Development Bank, based in Jidda, Sacuudiya. That fund's fruit is what you see today. Long road ahead, however. Again, it wouldn't be the first university outside Xamar. Both Gaheyr and Lafoole were outside Xamar. In fact, they are trying to duplicate Gaheyr, with its huge, former imposing compound nestled between Xamar and Afgooye.
Chimera Posted November 7, 2007 MMA i hope this University starts producing on the same level(or higher) as the Old University before the war, same with the other Universities in other parts of the country the more Somalis are educated (and become less myopic and sheepish) and start thinking for themselves the sooner they will clean the Political landscape of today Insha-allah
Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted November 8, 2007 But Gaheyr produced Geedi, and we know what he turned out to be. Educated by the Soomaali education system, for free. Hal shilin kama bixin, including his raashiin isku quudin jiray as well. His appreciation was in uu Xabashi u adeego and xasuuqo ummadda Soomaaliyeed. We just hope other so-called educated Soomaalis turn not to be like him.
