OG Moti Posted September 11, 2004 I have been online for so long, and I came to ask myself what did internet after all these years added to me as a person.. it took me less than 5 minutes to see the great benefits of the internet towards my personality and personal gain and are as following: - It has helped me to find online jobs - I made friends with great people who i would never come accross if it wasnt the internet these people some are in this site...namely - Juxa | Dawacoo | Jamaal | ina sankataabte | Nuune | OG | Dareman | the baro family "thou the group confuses me since they changed their names" | Mr. Che | silent sista | Rudy | undercat | and many others it would take me long time listing them, but they know themselves and I have great respect for these people and nothing i would want more than meeting them and have face to face chat with them... these people will remain in my heart for as long as i am alive.. thanks to you all and thanx to internet i have real good caring friends whom i never met but feel they are part of my life... - It helped me find information all sorts of information without moving from my seat - I learn new softwares and loads of programming languages so as you can see this net thing is amazing but again it depends how you use it.. so tell us what the internet did for u positively... I never took this side of the net seriously, i mean the chat and forum side, but these individuals made me think again, they made realize these people are real and these people could be friends you could depend on... peace to all, long live Internet, and Somalia for Somalis ... peace

dawoco Posted September 11, 2004 aaaah I'm so touched that i will ignore the misspelling of my nick, Wel what the hey, i'll even ignore comming second to a macawiis wearing xaliimo. Moti that was touching. For once in ur life, you haven't angered me The the internet has its uses, but i feel like i have come to rely on it too much. If i come online to do research, i'll convince myself that there is no harm if im logged on my msn at the same time. By the time i logg off, i would have known everything that happened in my friends' life, and nothing about what i was supposed to research. Nothing beats the good ole library. The smell of aged books, the soft whispers of people, the one girl that is always looking uncomfortable cos she is in the romantic novels section and feels like everyone is staring at her. The overcorrect politeness of the librarian. The fights with other library users that want the same book as you (i always win ) Can the internet provide this? All that it has done is make me antisocial. But i did get to know many wonderful people through the net. Not seedy chatrooms mind you, but here on our very own sol Ps: Og girl, who have u been shukaansiying makes me wonder.. *i'm becoming one of those people that deface our language by using it as it were english, oh the shame of it all. IL CAPO Posted September 13, 2004 One day,few years back I felt the need to go worldwide and surf the waves of cyberspace who knows i might just crash land into some website,so off I went to find myself a megabyte computer to change myself into a crazy internet polluter. I can't recall if I had such fun since i went to Hagar Dheer Refugee camp some years ago,it isn't very often the my Doctor allows me an outdoor show. What happened next I do not know, but it was unforeseen because unexpectedly a form appeared upon my screen,I had no clue of what to do, so I just signed my name and gave specifications on my genius and fame Described myself as unhuggable, very ugly looking creature, quite the man,and skinny too, not to forget the leader of a clan. I hit the enter button thinking this would satisfy the person who was curious to know all this stuff about me.Can you imagine how I felt next day reading my mail,it wasn't curiosity but Dating Service! They thanked me for my interest and said I soon would be."A hit for sure, no doubt about it – you just wait and see." Computer bound I waited in suspense – well just a bit and felt real pleased I soon would be the latest cyber hit . To my surprise I got replies, I was a real success but after reading all my mails finally IL CAPO was in a mess! Some wanted marriage, some a child and some were quite obscene,so I replied to all of them without making a scene. "A little note from IL CAPO to set these ladies straight" For all those who seek marriage: I'm the wrong guy I'm afraid!trust me on this one and I'm not the type," I said,Although they're family,I cannot render services of nuts exclusively and neither am I ready to start fatherhood real soon,as crazy as I am, that's a whole different type of game for me to play.so if you want what I can't be, I'm not the man you seek, all other Miss Behavin' may reply within a week." No need to say "I hope this Dude would find some peace and quiet"I don't need prayers from anyone or anyone feel pity but for all these ladies in distress I secretly desired. but then I got an e-mail, speed delivery and all, here's what it said – I still keep it hanging on my bedroom wall after all these years. "My name is ****** – How do you do? Let's meet next week or so,I loved your latest profile, not the usual you know.I do not need obscenity, nor marriage or a child,I'd like to meet new friends, if possible a little wild like you." So ****** How do you do and I have set a date next week and only time will tell if I'm a freak or just unique. I don't believe in cyber friendship mind you,and I don't need to be friends with anybody that i can't squeeze the little life out of them everytime they mess with me, but what i would really need is some one to clean all my dirty laundries, now who wants to be that lucky soul? i am out. Qac Qaac Posted September 14, 2004 What in the world!!! Internet.. waaw. it has lots of benefits.. but i doubted if ppl use it for beneficial stuff though... I heard 9 out of the top 10 sites of the iternet are all Porno sites... and 1 is left for everything else... on the other hand... school work is much easier get a good friend learn listen quran from it hadiths... debates but let's be honest... most of the ppl. wanna check their e-mail. go to their favourite chat room.. and yeah... the P sites. so i would concluded the harm we gain from it, is much biger than the benefits... mac salaama.
