nuune Posted April 26, 2009 ^^ Indeed Bella , we talk alot of the achievements of the past, and yet we don't do much!! In fact, alot has being done since 1990 in terms of Somali Aviation, there are more than 10 Airline companies operating in Somalia right now, all owned by Somali businessmen. With that achievements in mind by Somali businessmen, with all those new airlines put together, they cannot compete the service and the world classic achievements enjoyed by former Somali Airline, the White Star Service. Hopefully, the White Star Servive would be back in the near future. JB lool, accidents of Somali AIrlines were minimum, there was only one big fatal incident around 50 died, it was a flight bound for Hargeisa from Mogadishu, and it crashed over Hiilweyne near Balcad, I was there to witness the LIVE wreckage, very sad

Muriidi Posted May 3, 2009 back in the days somali airlines and swiss air were rated best airlines worldwide. simplicity and practicality with a nuance of luxury that you may take for granted.like nice ripe bananas with your rice or music by shimali and sahra dawo (dur dur), the boeing was nicknamed "deeqa".deeqa never required support or opposition for any faction....allowed but not required. i wonder if somali airlines is still here with us on some "plane of awareness"...next stop "xamr jajab"!
