Another milestone

While I was Muqdisho recently, I used to come across freshly digged ditches across at major intersections all over Muqdisho, especially at meelihii ugu bilicsanaa dadka aad u isticmaali jiray berisamaadkii. Each time, I was told the ditches were for the installation of major surveillance cameras that will be installed in Xamar soon.

Well, first phase in this major undertaking started this week. And it doesn't look bad. I welcome this in the name of security and safety.

These cameras are all connected into a central surveillance system.

I was thinking of the face recognition Chinese style, but those who do wrong will mask themselves. They also already know all the tricks like Epstein where cameras did not work, guards monitoring were asleep..etc.

But is great. Job creation, technology transfer and even if it catches one.....many benefits.

Yes indeed they should have done this ages ago but better late than never.

There are dharcad undercover youths in each degmo in Xamar in the past year. The reason qaraxyada u yaraadeen is not only because of major road closures. NISA has a lot of informal agents who infiltrated a whole sections of xaafado, most of them youths in each xaafad. There are lowkey and mid range Barbaarta members being exposed each week in Xamar as a result of this. Just the other day their medical services arranger got caught.

When it comes to spying shabaab are well advanced they infiltrated every government departments and also using corrupted officials to get information.

Undercover agents could patrol the streets and follow every suspicious activity. We talked about it long ago. Better late than never. 

The most important aspect terror prevention is controlling the flow of money. Stop this deadly phone banking called Zaad , E Dahabshiil or whatever name they have. Let the killers make the long walk and meet their financiers in daylight. Telephone money transfer is the easiest way to hire killers anonymously. 

What I know is this government or those before them can not tough the big fish --the so called  somali telecom. The government themselves use their services for many different reasons and could not touch the. it is  the hand that feeds them. 

Man, we need a tough leader to crush the sacred cows of Somalia.
