Zafir Posted December 21, 2006 In a December 18 column headlined "Barack Hussein Obama: Once a Muslim, Always A Muslim" and posted on her website, right-wing pundit Debbie Schlussel argued that because Sen. Barack Obama's (D-IL) middle name is Hussein, his late, estranged father was of Muslim descent, and he has shown interest in his father's Kenyan heritage, Obama's "loyalties" must be called into question as he emerges as a possible Democratic presidential candidate. In the column, Schlussel asked: "So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian ... is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?" She ended her column by asking if Obama becoming vice president instead would be acceptable. Answering her own question, she wrote: "NO WAY, JOSE ... Or, is that, HUSSEIN?" In questioning Obama's "loyalties," Schlussel immediately noted his middle name and then pointed to several "items in his background." First, she wrote that Obama's father was "apparently a Muslim." She went on to note that his mother's second husband was an Indonesian man, whom Schlussel described as "likely a Muslim." She also brought up a March 3, 2004, Salon.com article by Scott Turow which noted that Obama attended a Muslim school while living in Indonesia. But in citing these "items" as evidence of Obama's Muslim leanings, Schlussel ignored several pertinent facts. First, she left out that Turow made clear in his 2004 article that, during his time in Indonesia, Obama transferred to a Catholic school: Source --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the article it repeatedly saying, “His father and step father weren’t a practicing Muslims” I suspect it’s to discredit them from fundamentalists, terrorists, or what have you, or perhaps the connotations of a Muslim. End product of all the wrong elements is what Obama is “Black” with a “Muslim heritage” NOO WAY, HUSSIEN is about right, white America is never going to accept him as leader of the free world. LayZie G. Posted December 21, 2006 No worries, Senator Obama doesn't have a chance at becoming the next president. Even if he runs for it, he won't reach far, this is Oprah's doing, he makes to her show few times, and as a result has the #1 selling book in the country and the talks of his presidency becomes a big news. Oprah amazes me by the minute, but even with all her power and money, Obama won't even go as far as his saliva can take him when it comes to running for office. mantra Posted December 21, 2006 I agree with Layziegirl, he never had a chance to begin with. I wont be surprised if Georgie gets shot (by some radical Islamist they'll probably tell us) and good old dicky becomes the leader of the 'free world' and we all get shipped to Auschwitz.. Didi Kong Posted December 21, 2006 Hilary has waaaaaay better chance than he does! And you know the probability of a woman ever being the president of America is nil, despite her credentials.
Che -Guevara Posted December 21, 2006 Would Somalia have a half-breed Somali with Christain heritage as the head of the state? I probably Say No. The woman might be super paraniod, but she is only appealing to our common prejudices.

Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted December 22, 2006 There is no direct democracy in Mareykanka. If your name can't pass publically an indiscernible vetted process by some invisible, but powerful and influencial behind the scenes men, then you can forget about ever going to sleep a king's bed in Aqalkacas -- and regardless whether your name is Xuseen or Bush. Those lobbyists with their huge lobbying organizations which comes with plenty of $$ through fundraising and their other arm of think tanks spinning through the media, if you can't have those people behind your campaign, it is deadset to begin your campaign with. In ideal society, Al Gore could have been president today, instead of the former almost president of Mareykanka. Also Americans do not have a direct means to vote and put their man in the Aqalkacas, another set against a true functioning democracy due to electoral college.
