Baluug Posted November 20, 2009 Can't believe no one's talking about this: DUBLIN -Ireland appealed to France and FIFA on Thursday to replay their World Cup playoff after an obvious hand ball by Thierry Henry set up the deciding goal. Ireland's government and soccer association asked for Wednesday's 1-1 draw in the second leg at Stade de France to be replayed. France advanced to next year's World Cup in South Africa 2-1 on total goals. FIFA said it received Ireland's request for a replay, though it was unclear if the governing body of soccer would seriously consider it. Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni called the prospect of a rematch "impossible." Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen said he would "have a chat about it" with French President Nicolas Sarkozy at a meeting of the 27 EU leaders in Brussels. link
MZanzi Posted November 20, 2009 Oh yes they where most definitely robbed. On the other hand, they had every possibility to win this game but failed to take their chances.
Faheema. Posted November 20, 2009 Get Over It, it's not like they where gonna go far
Abtigiis Posted November 20, 2009 They were robbed. Ironik, what makes you feel they wouldn't have gone far. They were superb in a tough qualification group and italy got a late equaliser otherwise they would have taken the top spot. They played very well against France in two legs. And they are really playing high-tempo game. I think they will have done very well in the World Cup. Also, remember Denmark won the 1988 European Cup after failing to qualify and only come as a replacement to the banned Yugoslavia.

Abtigiis Posted November 20, 2009 I made an error. 1988 ileen waatii Van Basten Holland koobka u qaaday with that thrunderous volley. Holland 2- Russia 0 bay ku dhamaatay. I meant 1992 when Damark beat Germany 2- o, led by Peter Schmiechel.
nuune Posted November 20, 2009 Ireland to declare war on France 20 November 2009, Dublin: The Irish Government is today, EU rules permitting, expected to declare war on France. It will be a wildly popular move amongst a financially, emotionally and psychologically traumatized Irish people. The road to war has been inevitable since Wednesday night, when, in a typically outrageous piece of Gallic cheating, French footballing male supermodel Thierry Henry perpetrated the most despicable handball ever seen on a football field, thus leading to the elimination of Ireland from the World Cup. The Irish war plan, leaked to your correspondent, is stunning in its simplicity. To save money, a Battalion of Irish troops, will be dispatched, via the car ferry, from Rosslare in County Wexford to Le Havre in northern France, where an immediate and complete surrender of the entire French armed forces is anticipated. This, as even the most casual student of history will know, is a not unreasonable expectation on behalf of the Irish. In what will be "The Second Football War", the Irish expect to return home laden down with wine, cheese and women, which will be seen as their rightful plunder and booty. A slap in the insufferably smug puss of Thierry Henry, whose appallingly effeminate Christian name, if indeed he is a Christian, is an added insult to all red blooded and red haired Irishmen. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, has expressed an interest in aiding the Irish war effort, again EU rules permitting. Source: Irish Times
Che -Guevara Posted November 20, 2009 An Irish said, "she will give up French wine, french fries, and french kissing"..hahaa bohooo.
Jacpher Posted November 20, 2009 ^How is this French's fault? It wasn't France that decided they advance. It is FIFA. Go after them.

Isn't he Muslim? I'm still waiting for Henry to make a Maradona-style "Hand of God" excuse for all this.
