Jacaylbaro Posted January 28, 2008 Well, i'm here in Borama ,, arrived yesterday and as usual i'm in Rays Hotel Durinig the dinner i was witnessing those well-dressed women coming in groups that is when i realized something is goin on here ,, I asked the waiter if there is a party/wedding and he confirmed. As the wedding/conference hall is very close to the rooms the music was very loud ,,, i couldn't help but to dress and go out of the room to watch the dancing and those who are shaking their money-makers ,,,, i was just curious to see this wedding/party in Borama. I recognized the singer who was my Brother and his other friend ,, that is when i felt comfortable coz at least there is someone i can talk to .... i had a problem to see the pride and the groom in there ,,,, the designated place was empty and although many were dancing in the floor i couldn't see anyone i can describe as pride or groom. Again Curious i asked them where are they ,,, well here comes the strange response: "None of them is in Borama nor in Somaliland at all, they both live in the abroad and as they got engaged (meher) then they sent some money and asked the families to party for them". What is the use to ask you family to hold such xaflad in another continent when they can do it for themselves ??? I know if one of them lives here can do it but what amazed me was when the are both away.
Baluug Posted January 28, 2008 Probably because it's cheaper to have the party back home than it is somewhere else.
Jacaylbaro Posted January 28, 2008 Of course it is cheaper although not all the times ,,,, but what is the use of none of them are there ?
