Muslims and Pornography

Recommended Posts

thats what happens when u make the subject such a taboo and people are afraid to discuss their thaughts of it in public, but there needs to be some control. but we as muslims need to understand our deen 1st and act according then naturally such fitnah we reduce without being censured by the authroties.

^^I agree, fear of allah has to come from within not one that is forced by authorities. There ought to be a much healthier way of discussing sex in the islamic nations and homes too..

Maybe kids should be married off as soon as they reach puberty..that will tame their desires..but what about those grown up men, more wives perharps?

^^^Iam sure the men will agree with the more wives bit. Iam so sad that the muslim youth (and those that ain't that young) are so preoccupied wid this when madness is happening in the muslim world. Seriously wen the ppl forget Allah and they feel no shame, Allah forgets dem.

I dnt know wot can really be done, do datwa among the lay muslims and make it difficult for dem to access this stuff. Social change takes so long and I dnt think its right for this to continue uncensured.

It is plain and simple: Muslims are living a fake muslim lives hence the epidemic of corrupted souls amongst themselves.

The gov's do not practice Islam yet they want to impose the rules of Islam on the populace. Doesn't work.

There is a huge problem in the Islamic world, it is as though the core of Ummah is rotting away and very little is happening to salvage it!

It is diabolical, wallaahi.

May Allah help us.

A quick analysis of google-trends affirms the problem. See the table below, which may be somewhat startling to some people, yet not surprising at all to others. Pakistan has the unfortunate bragging right, atop the list for the most proportional searches of the term “sex” on google (based on all-time searches). Proportionality measures the number of times that the term “sex” is searched, divided by the total number of all searches. Sadly, 7 out of the top 10 “sex”-search nations are Muslim countries, including the countries usually considered the most “conservative” in popular opinion– Saudi Arabia and Iran. Interestingly, while Pakistan and Egypt are firmly entrenched as #1 and #2 respectively, Saudi and Iran have slipped out of the top-ten in the last 2 years. .

Thats because they dont know the exact url for those sites. This is really silly statistics, i am sure if they go to site by site visitations, white males will top that list. Google kulaha, theres more than google on the internet yaqee.

^Lol.

First of all, this is what you get when google the word sex. It's hardly salacious.

if the statistics are to be believed , you’d have to bear in mind that youngsters in the west are already overexposed to sexual content and wouldn’t really need to look for it. Apart from sex education classes at school you’re almost harassed by almost naked women on a daily basis.

In any case, I don't think this is indicative of a moral decay in Muslim societies as there has always been an element of interest in sexual matters and temptation in human history; before we had electricity and the internet, we hear of erotic tales and poetry that was common pretty much all over the world.

Whilst, every Muslim government has a duty to limit fitnah causing content in the internet and television, they still lack the power and influence to change young peoples behaviour.

It is ultimately up to parents to instil Islamic principles in their children, to educate them about the subject and to get to know their child well enough to probably tackle their interest in the subject - otherwise they will get underground education from their friends and that's what leads to problems.

The trouble with the Muslim community and the article is that we go around pretending that people don't have an interest and sexual desires and aren't faced with temptation - simply because they utter the shahaada - the defies both logic and Islamic teachings.

Yet, strangely we have a tendency of playing up sex as a possible eventuality to any inter-gender interaction, no matter how innocent (think women only malls in KSA), which will only increase their curiosity.

Parents and those working with youths have to either educate them about sex , how to avoid temptation or to facilitate it by making marriage an easy option for them.
