Al-Shabaab figure killed in Lower Shabelle, says military official

More reports are coming out of operations in the last hours by government troops in Lower Shabelle region.

The operation was planned and carried out by the armed forces in the region.

Adan Abdi, one of the military officials, who spoke to Shabelle, said they killed one commander in a confrontation with al-Shabaab.

The group has not yet commented on the attack.
