Former World Boxing Champion Prince Naseem Hamed has appeared in court in connection with a crash involving his £300,000 sports car.

Hamed, 31, of Wyvern Gardens, Dore, Sheffield, appeared for a committal hearing at the city's magistrates court.

The former world featherweight champion is charged with dangerous driving in connection with an incident in Ringinglow Road, on the outskirts of Sheffield, involving his McLaren-Mercedes car and two others.

One man was seriously injured in the crash on May 2.

Hamed was told his case will be heard at Sheffield Crown Court.

He has yet to enter a plea.

He was granted unconditional bail and will appear at crown court on March 31.
