Khalaf Posted February 2, 2007 from wikipedia: Caste systems in Somali outcaste Midgan-Madhiban, Yibir, Tumal and other groups deemed to be impure. The outcaste clans do not descend from the Arabic-origin ancestors of the political powerful noble caste, such as the ******, ****** and Isaak clans, and are traditionally forbidden to socialize with others in Somali society, have no access to public wells and other water sources, cannot own land and are not allowed to live in village like india. where did the somali caste system come from? I heard the gumaysii, hierarchy of somalis mostly came from Ali Yusuf. What is his story? His policies, the legends and stories attributed to him? Do you think there is noblity of lineage? I heard an elder say the Quresh for example were the noblesmen of the meccans, and all prophets including nabi scw were chosen from a "noble" tribe therefore there is such thing as noble lineage. How do u answer that, cause i couldnt? hahaha my bad walaa i like talking to elders, u learn lotta things, but what yall think.
Taako Man Posted February 2, 2007 ^ Ali yusuf was a man who's claim to fame i.e Hobyo sultanate, came to be in the late 19th century. The Somali caste system surely is a lot older then that.
