No significant benefits if he succeeds and no significant loss if he fails. Remember the oil can bring new problems. No body knows yet what the real stance of ONLF is, except for general talk. The Oromo also want to control and have a big cut on trade by Djibouti and now Somaliland. Which means a lot of unhappy Somali.
