Salam Aleikum W.W

I trust many of you have had a bad experience in life over the years, but how many of you can say they had to deal with armed robbery while in a mosque praying? Well, my friend has.

On Sunday evening one of my best friends was at the mosque praying Maghrib with the congregation when three armed men walked in and ordered everyone to lie down and hand over whatever they had on them.

There were not that many people in the mosque at that time as this mosque is located in downtown and he said there were roughly about 20-25 people and he was in the first line waiting to Sujuud for the third and final Raka'a when they suddenly heard loud voices ordering people to lie down and be quite and they kept shouting and cursing people at the top of their voices until the Imaam somehow realized what was going on and stopped the prayers and asked people to remain as calm and co-operative as they could and do as they were told.

Fortunately for my friend, he didn't have any valuable items on him and when they checked his pockets & wallet, they only found loose change, credit cards and a picture of his family, which strangely one of them congratulated him on how beautiful his family looked.

They went through everybody's pockets & wallets including the Imaam and took everything they could find and when they were done, thanked the congregation for their co-operation and peacefully left.

I know I shouldn't have done it, but I couldn't resist laughing at the craziest story I have ever heard, in fact, make that the weirdest and the most absurd one, I don't think I laughed as much as I laughed when watching The Last King Of Scotland, which by the way is a Comedy more than anything else...(That's another Story).

Alxamdulillaah, I have never ever had the misfortune of going through the dilemma of experiencing any kind of armed robbery yet, but that's the reality people face here 24/7..so Ladies & Gentlemen Welcome To My World.

Salam Aleikum W.W

Peace, Love & Unity.

He would have died stupidly. Unlikely to be a martyr at all. Life is sacred and shouldn’t be tossed away that lightly unless one is forced.

^^^ Come on now. Don't ask silly questions walaal smile.gif

There are lots of things worth dying for. In fact I’m more than certain that should I list them you will be nodding your head in agreement. Where I differ with you is on the timing and reason for risking one’s life. A couple of petty robbers are not worth sacrificing one’s life to. Even worse if you jump in with the deluded expectation that you’ll be a martyr!

You see, sister, when giving your life (fi sabeel Allah) who decides that you’re a martyr? Yourself, the scholars or the creator of mankind? How can one be 100 % sure that Allah will accept their sacrifice and consider them martyrs?

Ngonge..In a country like SA, chances are you will end being murdered, your organs might be taken out and sold. So to die in a masjid is considerably better and more appealing to any muslim.

Life is sacred..but we sure do live an era where the life of person cost nothing.
