Somaliland: Reports, Turkey Will Allow Entry To Somaliland Passports

 

There are unconfirmed reports that the Turkish government has decided to accept the Somaliland passport as a means of entry into to their country with a visa.

These reports suggest that the Turkish government, who had previously refused to honor the Somaliland passport have had a change of mind. Presumably, their desire to facilitate any future talks between Somaliland and Somalia, as well as, the economic viability of doing business in Somaliland, may have had something to do with this new direction.

If these reports are accurate, Turkey will join, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, South Sudan, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom as the other nations in the world who permit the use of Somaliland passport ( with a Visa) to entry their territories.

There has so far been no comment from the Somaliland Foreign Ministry.
