Galmudug state president appoints new governor for Mudug

The president of the Galmudug State of Somalia, Ahmed Duale Gelle Haaf, today dismissed from office the governor of Mudug region, central Somalia, and appointed a new governor.

In a decree, President Haaf appointed Abdirahman Ali Diriye as the new governor of Mudug region after dismissing his predecessor, Abdirashid Hashi Artan.

Artan has not yet commentated on the matter. However, the decree said the step was taken in order to better undertake services in the region.
