no wonder you spell Caddaan as cadaan with Texan avatar.

you reminded of northen guy who works in retail cloth shop in london. a southern guy, seeing the somali guy working in the shop, approached him and asked where the "shukumaans" were.

he didn't know what shukumaan was or meant so he thought and conculuded that it sounds like an underwear, so he took him to the lingerie section hoping the guy would say - oh here it is thanks! aftwerworking around the place couple time and the guy still following him around - he cried out "it is here somewhere in this department".

Cadaan or should i say caddaan - do you know what shukumaan is?? :D

LOL nice story. Shukumaan means "towel", of course. I guess I must have the southern dialect going, but that's because my ex is "Xamaraawi", there's a northern term.

I doubt so. It is merely what you got use 2....if someone said to me shukuman i would mostly likely misunderstand them, till ofcourse i get use to after sum time..

^You said shukuman sounds more somali. So basically I said that is not the case....its matter of what you are use 2, like whatever accent your parents speak...

like dindiin ..... it is nothing to do with accent - more like dialect or to be precise where it was borrowed/stoled from:

Tawal - from English colonisers's Towel - they the only people who used it.

Shukumaan - borrowed from concuction of Swahili and Arabic.

as for my second quest - fast one??

When i said accent, obviously I meant dialect. And, yes it has to do with your dialect and what you feel comfortable with. Perhaps, shukuman sounds more somali to you cuz thats the term u use. As for me "tuwaal" sounds perfectly somali...

again, its matter what term you use.

I have a feeling Cadaan was a Somali in a past life or something...I wonder if he knows what 'kurdad' means too... :D
