Kamaavi Posted December 19, 2009 This seems thoracoomphalopagus bipus conjoined twins, a quite common in India and Africa, but not sure if this will be first case in Somalia. One of the problems is that the larger the connecting bridge, the more complex its contents. Ethical questions may also arise in conjoined twins. For example, will the surgery be successful? Is sacrificing one twin to save the other justified? Furthermore, sometimes, parental refusal is a contraindication to surgery. May the babes get the deserved care and help, I'A.
