Eritrean Foreign Minister Visits Somaliland

 

 

 

Hargeisa,(Qaran news)-A delegation from Eritrea led by the Foreign minister, Osman Salah Mohammed, has arrived in Somaliland on a diplomatic visit.

The delegation was received by the Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi and held discussions on areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

The Eritrean delegation gave a brief press conference at the presidency to highlight their fact finding mission to Somaliland at the bequest of the Eritrean President, Isaias Afwerki.

Foreign minister Osman Salah stated that due to the recent conflicts in the Horn of Africa, Eritrea had been away from the diplomatic arena for some time, but after the recent peace agreement between Eritrea and Ethiopia, is now back to fully engage in the region.

The Eritrean delegation which also included the adviser to President Afwerki, was welcomed at Egal International by the Somaliland Vice-President, Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail “Saylici” and the Somaliland Foreign Minister, Prof. Yasin Mohammud Haji Hiir, “Faratoon”.
