Deeq A. Posted January 12, 2019 A roadside bomb explosion was reported to have hit a military convoy carrying African Union soldiers in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu on Saturday. The remote-controlled land ripped through one of the armoured vehicles in between SOS and Ex-control Balad in the capital’s Huriwa district, according to the eyewitnesses. A witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Radio Shabelle that the AU troops opened fire indiscriminately at a nearby crowd, though details of the casualties remain unclear. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bomb attack on AMISOM forces, however, Al Shabaab often carried out such IED assaults in the country.
