Well actually CL, you still havent answered the question. Would you define yourself as a Somali or sujuwi?

I remember a few years back when I didn't actually know what "sijui" meant, I thought a sijui was any Somali person born outside Somalia and so I asked this Djiboutian guy if he was sijui and he got a little upset and took great pains to explain to me exactly who sijui was Now I know the whole story

Another way to tell is that they get really flustered if you ask them to abtirsi (basically recite their genealogy backwards, hope you haven't neglected to teach your kids about their great-great grandfather Todd from Labrador and his many exploits).
