Former Somali president arrives in Kismayo city

Former President of the Federal Republic of Somalia has on Monday started his tour to the regional administration headquarters.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Kismayo, the interim capital of Jubbaland where he was received by state leader Ahmed Madobe and other top regional officials.

Already some members of the federal assembly who share political spectrum with former President have reached the port city to organize his welcome party.

A political analyst believes Hassan Sheikh Mohamud tour is linked to his political ambitions to lead the country again come 2020 Presidential elections.

Sheikh Mohamud was crowned on August this year after his return into the country as the chair of a new political party named Union for Peace and Democracy that brings together main opposition political parties.

The party is set to challenge President Abdullahi Farmajo government in upcoming Presidential elections in the country.
