Deeq A. Posted October 29, 2018 MOGADISHU (Caasimda Online)—A Somali businessman has been shot and killed on Sunday, the latest in a string of assassinations in the capital of Mogadishu. The victim, whose name has been released as Nour Kheir was gunned down by unknown men, armed with pistols at Baraka market in the capital, a witness said. He says Kheir has been working for Somali meat company based. It is unclear the motive behind for his assassination. The killers escaped from the crime scene, according to a witness, who spoke to Caasimada Online on condition of anonymity. Somali police soldiers arrived at the area and launched an operation over the Khair’s murder. No arrests have been made over the assassination. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Sunday’s killing in the capital of Mogadishu. Somali capital has been witnessing series of assassinations against Somali soldiers, civil servants, and other senior government staff members as some of the attack were claimed by Al Al Shabaab. Somali has been without a central authority since the overthrow of the late ruler Mohamed Siyad Barre in 1991 when the country plunged into chaos and lawlessness.
